Flag States

Vessels must be registered to operate internationally. A merchant vessel can only be registered or licensed to one flag at a time, under which it is considered to be that nationality. As such, it must remain compliant to the regulations outlined by that flag state.
Each flag state authority is responsible for enforcing regulations over vessels registered under their flag. This would include inspections, certifications, and issuance of documents. A vessel registered to a flag state must operate under the laws of it.
Regulations vary depending from flag to flag, and Regs4ships verifies information from the flag states on a regular basis in addition to local and international regulations.
Regs4ships brings together and provides the user with documentation and regulations that are verified by the flag states below. Links to each Flag State registry website are provided below where further information around flag regulations are available.
